Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished public servant and a businessman is vice president. Cheney is an established figure on Washington's political scene. George W. Bush who is set to become the new chief of state in the U.S. will be Cheney's fourth. Bush announced the nomination of Cheney to be his vice president running partner in July of 2000. Bush cited Cheney's wisdom judgement, experience, and judgment. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff to a president. He also served as a congressman Congress and served as secretary of defence. Republicans as well as Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney believes that his job as a member of the Bush Administration will be to act as an honest and discreet advisor. Cheney was the first to accept the Republican Vice-Presidential election in 2007, said his hopes were high for being under a President who is able to work across party lines and collaborate with rival political parties with goodwill and a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. In the age of thirteen Richard and his family relocated out of Nebraska and moved to Casper in the state of Casper where his father was the Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
