Her birth date was March 29, 1985, in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza is her name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican grandparents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is of Mexican-American heritage and is American in nationality. From the time she was little she's always been interested in participating in sport. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she was 15 years old. Gerina completed her high school education at Goddard High School. She won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament at the age of high school. In addition, she was a volleyball player and competed at the state level. She enrolled in Texas's University of Texas, Texas, for the 2003 academic year. In her senior year, she took home the top prize in every single tournament that she played in. During undergraduate studies she won the titles of Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the year.
