Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for the Olympic event. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. She first competed in the junior national championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in 1970. At her first international event in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she won three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals at her senior debut international competition that took place in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as a senior. She won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars with backwards double salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in the entertainment industry in her teens performing as a figure skating duo with their sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her entertainment career in her teens. She began her career as figure skater performing with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. These shows included the ice skating of which was followed by musical performances.
