Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet vulnerable characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of our times. Linney was born to an unmarried single mother who was a nurse. Her interest in theatre during the time spent in the summer by her famous father. Her studies in acting were at Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. After graduating at Brown University in the year 2000, she started her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. Within two years of the time, her debut film hit the market, and following year, her debut on television. Over the past few years, she's appeared in numerous TV productions, films as well as stage productions. During her career she received numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards. The actress has received nominations for five Tony Awards as well as three Oscar Award nominations. But, in spite of her recognitions and awards, stage is where she's at and she is determined to play on the stage and on screen.
